Week 3: Part 2 by Abbey

Today in chemistry, we reviewed for our chapter 6 test. We played a game to help us understand information that would appear on the test. She asked questions having to do with electron configuration. She also asked questions about Planck's constant having to do with energy. Plank's constant is 6.626 x 10^ -34 which is equal to h. We also reviewed Bohr's model. We also reviewed how frequencies and wavelengths are related. The longer the wavelength the lower the frequency. The shorter the wavelength the higher the frequency. The reason for this is because energy is equal to frequency times Plank's constant. The shorter the wavelength, the move waves there are, thus having more energy in the wave. We also reviewed the certain types of rays and what has the most energy. Out of gamma rays, UV rays, and visible rays, gamma rays have the most energy or frequency. All of this information was reviewed in class for the test.

Today we took our Chapter 6 test. We had 25 multiple choice questions and 7 essay questions, but we chose only 5 of the 7 to answer.

Today will be a lecture day to start learning chapter 7. Chapter 7 talks about the periodic table and how it is set up. We learn about the sizes of ions and atoms, which relates to the placement of the periodic table. This chapter basically discusses the trends in which the elements on the periodic table came to be put in that certain order.
