Week 3: Part 1 by David

Over the past two days our class has been performing a lab. The lab was titled Beer’s Law. It was designed to show the absorption of light in solutions using a spectrophotometer. To do this we first made a .5 molar solution of copper sulfate (CuSO4). Using this we made dilutions of .08, .16, .24, and .34 molar solution. We then put samples of these into the spectrophotometer and measured the absorption of light passed through the sample. We then used two unknown concentrations of the solution and, using our previous data found the concentration of the unknown samples.
